Lady Tigers ended up tied in overtime

For Belton it was back-to-back overtime games that might have done them in with a tie that seemed like a loss for a program that has only lost one game in the past 70. The two toughest district games are back-to-back against Temple and Consolidated. When nobody can even tie you for year’s that is how far the program has come in the past decade.` 3/06/10


Lady Tigers win their 34th straight

The Lady Tigers out shot Killeen Ellison 23-6 with most of Killeen’s shot on goals coming late with Belton mixing up their lineup. Ellison playing a defensive game held on strong for most of the first half with the Lady Tigers on scoring until midway through the first half. In the end it was simply too much talent on Belton’s side and the Lady Tigers won their 34th straight district game and 62-1-4 since 2005. 2/28/10


Belton girls finally crack Temple's defense with two overtime goals

In this rivalry, some things never seem to change.

The Temple girls soccer team played tough defense, all but silencing Belton's high-scoring attack. But once again, one of the Lady Wildcats' best efforts of the season wasn't enough.

Nationally-ranked Lady Tigers roll

It was a banner week for the nationally ranked Lady Tigers soccer team with a dominating performance at The Woodlands tournament. This year’s Lady Tigers team is simply a mixture of gutty sophomores, future stars that are freshmen and veteran juniors and seniors. 2/17/10


Belton Lady Tigers beat Killeen Ellison 5-0

BELTON - Hadley Young scored her team's first and last goals and Jourdan Brown and Emily Krenek each had a goal and an assist as the Belton Lady Tigers beat Killeen Ellison 5-0 on Friday night at Wilson-Kerzee Field. 2/06/10


Lady Tigers win Governor's Cup finale

GEORGETOWN - The Belton Lady Tigers picked up their first win at the Governor's Cup on Saturday with a 1-0 victory over Dripping Springs.
Belton (7-4-1) lost to Austin Bowie 3-2 on Thursday and fell 2-0 to The Woodlands on Saturday. No other information was reported.
The Lady Tigers open District 12-5A play Friday at Marker Heights.

Tigers, Lady Tigers soccer teams rely on team play to overcome losses

BELTON - Neither the boys nor the girls soccer teams in Belton have the same arsenals they possessed a year ago.

There are, however, still plenty of weapons - enough ammunition to say that the Tigers and Lady Tigers are reloading instead of rebuilding.

Lady Tigers upset No. 2 The Woodlands

THE WOODLANDS - The Belton Lady Tigers beat their second ranked team in as many days, this time taking down No. 2-ranked The Woodlands 2-1 on Saturday afternoon in The Kilt Cup.

It was the Lady Tigers' first win over The Woodlands, which was also ranked No. 6 in ESPN RISE's national poll.
